Q. Why does FAIS ask for support in addition to tuition?
A. Annual Giving provides 7 % of the actual cost of a FAIS education.
Tuition and fees never cover the true cost of a FAIS education. The Annual Fund is, thus, vitally important, as it helps close the gap between tuition and the real cost of educating a student. Revenues from the Annual Gala Auction, as well, help close this gap.
Q. Where exactly is my money going?
A. Gifts to Annual Giving go directly into day-to-day operations of the School, making up more than seven percent of the School’s budget. Your generosity helps FAIS attract and keep the finest of faculty to prepare our students for their next steps toward secondary, then higher, education. Your support also ensures that FAIS stays on top of the game by allowing us to maintain state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology. Because of you, FAIS continues to thrive.
Q. What are the levels of giving?
A. Le Cercle de Platine ($2,000 and more)
Le Cercle d’Or ($1,000 to $1,999)
Le Cercle d’Argent ($500 to $999)
Q. Can I make a gift with my credit card?
A. Yes, you can. Just call our Tricia Blood at 503-292-7776, ext. 305, or email tblood@faispdx.org and we shall be happy to assist you. By doing so, many credit card companies will give you a bonus, such as "points" or frequent flier miles.
Q. What if I don’t have "much" to give?
A. Every gift counts. Maximizing participation is our goal, as participation is an important criterion for grants from corporations and foundations. You can help with a gift of any size.
Q. I am not sure whether my employer will match my gift. What should I do?
